Gamma Tech has released Gamma 5, a rebuilt version of its AI presentation platform designed to remove repetitive layouts and generic visuals from generated slides. The release combines a redesigned editor, a more capable AI agent and a library expanded to thousands of templates. The company positions the update as a response to growing complaints about recognizable AI style since early this year. For business teams, this matters because presentation quality now directly signals whether AI work was reviewed or simply generated.

Gamma launches Gamma 5 to remove AI look from presentations

Rebuilt editor, agent and template library

Gamma 5 replaces an earlier system that limited users to a restricted set of design components. The new editor allows free placement of elements on a canvas, custom code generation, shape drawing and direct editing of individual objects. Before generation, users can develop an outline with the agent, refining the argument, target audience and visual approach. The company says the agent can also suggest adjustments that tune content to audience interests.

The agent runs in a sandbox where it generates images, manipulates files, conducts web research and reviews its own output. Automated checks correct defects such as text overflowing slide boundaries or awkwardly cropped images. The platform combines more than 20 AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, plus several image generators. Model selection relies on internal evaluations and user experiments, including whether people edit, share or pay for their creations.

For visuals, Gamma favors illustrations over photorealistic AI images. Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Jon Noronha said illustrations communicate business and educational material effectively while avoiding distorted anatomy, inconsistent lighting and implausible details. The platform supports importing PowerPoint files, PDFs and other materials for editing. An internal benchmark for visual accuracy of imports rose from about 30% early in development to over 97%.

What this means for corporate content teams

Gamma 5 connects slide creation to internal information through around 20 connectors. Supported sources include Slack and transcription services Granola, Fireflies and Fathom, with existing user authorizations applied. The agent can flag sensitive material for discussion. Brand preferences, custom instructions and workspace templates persist across projects, which lets teams reuse design choices and company context without rebuilding them for each deck.

Some users report that creation time fell from eight to 10 hours to about 30 minutes, largely because formatting work decreased. For small companies without designers, that shift moves presentations from outsourced or delayed tasks to same-day production. For larger organizations, the larger effect comes from reuse of templates and context, which supports consistency across sales, marketing and training materials produced by different teams.

The next marker is whether connected workflows move from static decks to maintained materials. Gamma plans graphic design and video generation, plus sales presentations that update automatically when new customer information arrives through connected applications. Founded in 2020, the company reports about 110 million free-version sign-ups and $90 million raised from investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Accel. Adoption of live data updates will show whether Gamma becomes part of sales operations rather than a separate design tool.
