Why October Starts Loud

I've been eyeing cloud gaming for a while, and this month looks like a great reason to finally try it. GeForce NOW is adding 25 new games to its library, and 6 of them are already available this week. The main reasons to jump into the cloud right now are a bonus for Performance and Ultimate subscribers in CONTROL Resonant and the long-awaited release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. You can now stream it without a powerful PC or a long install.

Cloud October: 25 Games on GeForce NOW, CONTROL Resonant, and the Witcher's Return

This kind of start to the month looks like NVIDIA's bid to be the go-to fall gaming platform for anyone who doesn't want to upgrade hardware. Instead of downloading dozens of gigabytes and waiting for patches, GeForce NOW handles rendering, storage, and downloads for you. All you need is stable internet and almost any device—from a weak laptop to a tablet or TV.

A Gift From a Parallel World in CONTROL Resonant

There's a special surprise for fans of the Remedy universe. CONTROL Resonant is already available in the cloud for Performance and Ultimate subscribers. Along with it, a giveaway launched for an exclusive reward—the Third Ice Baseball Cap for the main character.

In the story, players explore a distorted Manhattan on the brink of a paranormal catastrophe. The protagonist, Dylan Faden, uses supernatural abilities to fight Hiss, Mold, and other reality-bending threats. At the same time, he searches for his sister—Federal Bureau of CONTROL director Jesse Faden. The atmosphere of an anxious world that "took a wrong turn" fits the fall mood perfectly.

To claim the reward, you need to get a code, then launch CONTROL Resonant in Steam or Epic Games Store, open Options in the main menu, go to the Gameplay section, and select Enter Redeem Code. You can equip the cap after completing Act 1. The bonus is available from Thursday, October 1, until November 1, 11:59 PM PT. After that, as NVIDIA jokes, it will "slip into another dimension."

The White Wolf Returns: The Witcher 3 in the Cloud

The second headliner of the week is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. It launched on September 29 and is already available on GeForce NOW for Performance and Ultimate subscribers. The story of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter for hire searching for the Child of Prophecy in a war-torn open world, looks fresh again thanks to the remaster's updated specs.

The main value of the cloud release is accessibility. No need to buy an expensive graphics card or free up disk space—all computation runs on NVIDIA servers. And Ultimate tier subscribers get GeForce RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud. This is especially noticeable in large-scale scenes, in Novigrad, on Skellige, and in battles with big monsters.

Along with the remaster, 5 more games came to the service this week. These are Minecraft Dungeons II, released September 29 on Xbox and available in Game Pass, the atmospheric Nivalis Nights from Steam on September 29, Bookshop Simulator, Megastore: Tidy Up Together, and Planet Coaster 2 on Xbox, also available in Game Pass. The lineup covers several genres at once—from co-op adventures to cozy management simulators.

What's Coming Before the End of October

The main wave of releases is still ahead. NVIDIA published the full October calendar, and it's packed with big titles. On October 6, Gears of War: E-Day and STAR WARS: Galactic Racer hit Steam. On October 8—Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival, Order of the Sinking Star, and Silver Pines. And on October 9—the survival game Permafrost.

The second half of the month will be just as busy. On October 13 come Deep Dish Dungeon, Planet Zoo 2, Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Complete Edition, and Valor Mortis. On October 14—Among the Trolls, over the hill, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. And on October 16—Beyond These Stars and Tenebris Somnia. Separately, during the month, Dimraeth, Graveyard Keeper 2, Solasta II, and Tyr from Steam will be added to the cloud without a fixed release day.

It's important to remember that the dates in the list are the games' release dates in Steam, Xbox, and other stores. On GeForce NOW, titles appear as they're integrated, sometimes with a few days' delay. So NVIDIA advises following the service's official channels and weekly GFN Thursday digests.

Plus 11 September Games and How to Try the Service Cheaply

The October announcement was rounded out by September results. Besides previously announced projects, 11 more games were quietly added to the library. These include The Blood of Dawnwalker from GOG.com, Death Stranding Director's Cut from Epic Games Store, Dune: Awakening and RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Xbox. Also DragonSword: Awakening, Everything Is Crab, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Over the Top: WWI, Roadside Research, Stick It to the Stickman, and Wild West Pioneers from Steam.

For those who haven't tried the cloud yet, NVIDIA reminds about Day Passes. It's a way to test the premium tier with GeForce RTX support for a small fee without committing to a monthly subscription. Better yet, the cost of the pass counts toward your first monthly plan. That makes trying the service practically risk-free.

The fall expansion of GeForce NOW reflects a broader trend: computation is moving to the cloud, leaving users with just a screen and internet. The same principle is driving business software today, where heavy AI models run on servers and companies get a ready result. If you want to bring that logic into your own processes, look at how AI agents for your business work—they also take on routine and heavy computation, leaving your team to play the big game.
