Evvy, officially Allora Health Inc., has raised $40 million in Series B funding to scale its AI-powered precision diagnostics and care platform for women's health. The round was led by Catalio Capital Management, with participation from new investors including the U. S. Fertility Innovation Fund, Rethink Impact, Muse Capital and Alumni Ventures, alongside existing backers LabCorp Venture Fund, General Catalyst and Left Lane Capital. The company says its technology is already used by more than 100,000 patients and 3,000 medical practitioners, a scale that makes the funding round a test of whether AI-driven diagnostics can move from niche research into routine clinical practice.

What the funding will be used for

The capital will go toward validating a new generation of AI-enabled diagnostic and care models designed to handle a broader range of women's health conditions. The first target is fertility, which Evvy's co-founder and CEO Priyanka Jain describes as an especially complex challenge where the vaginal microbiome is only one part of a much larger biological system. The company plans to share more about its findings in this area later this year. Jain said the goal is to give doctors access to accurate vaginal microbiome results with relevant clinical interpretations so they can incorporate them into a fertility patient's broader care plan.

Evvy's approach rests on an at-home testing kit that uses metagenomic sequencing. A patient takes a swab, and the resulting biological data is fed into a machine learning engine called EvvyAI, which analyzes the sample and matches each patient with a personalized prescription treatment plan. The system is designed to improve over time because it continuously learns from insights gleaned from each new test. Jain said the company spent more than five years building what she calls the world's largest clinical-grade dataset on the vaginal microbiome and women's health outcomes, and that this data and AI infrastructure is what precision medicine in women's health has been missing.

The problem Evvy addresses has deep roots. Clinical trials of new drugs generally excluded women until 1993, leaving only about 30 years of research data on female biology. Jain said women were long considered small men from a medical and research standpoint, which erased the many ways the female body is distinct down to the cellular level. That gap compounds: when female biology is not studied, the biomarkers that could explain symptoms are never identified, and without those biomarkers symptoms get labeled as unexplained. The result is misdiagnosis rates higher than 50% for some conditions and a recurrence rate of common vaginal symptoms above 60%.

What this means for healthcare providers

For clinics and health systems, the practical consequence is a diagnostic layer that can be added without rebuilding existing workflows. Licensed clinicians using EvvyAI report successfully diagnosing more than 90% of symptomatic patients, with a 50% reduction in the recurrence of conditions such as bacterial vaginosis. A small practice can adopt the at-home kit and AI interpretation as an add-on to its current testing menu, while a larger system would need to integrate the results into electronic records and care pathways. The value shows up most clearly in cases that today end with a vague label rather than a treatment plan.

What the news does not mean is that AI has replaced clinical judgment or that the platform covers all of women's health. The current evidence centers on the vaginal microbiome, and fertility remains a stated goal rather than a delivered product. Buyers should ask how the dataset was validated, which conditions fall inside the cleared scope, how the AI handles cases outside its training data, and how results are reviewed by licensed clinicians. Evvy's dataset has been cited in 13 peer-reviewed publications and helped researchers discover new bacterial subtypes and hundreds of previously uncatalogued vaginal microbiome genomes, but publication is not the same as regulatory clearance for every use case.

The marker to watch is the fertility findings Evvy has promised later this year. If the company can show that microbiome data improves fertility outcomes in a controlled clinical setting, precision medicine for women's health moves from a single condition toward a broader platform, and the $40 million round becomes a template for other diagnostics startups. If the results stay within bacterial vaginosis and similar conditions, the funding is better read as a bet on one well-defined niche rather than a new standard of care.
